You probably knew that the new World Champion in Open Class 2007 is Airwave designer Bruce Goldsmith who won on a glider he designed - the Airwave Magic FR 3.
But did you know that also Airwave´s DHV 1 glider WAVE got also World Champion in 2007? Matjaz Feraric won the World Championships in accuracy flying 2007 on an Airwave WAVE and Rafael Kerin got Vice World Champion flying an Airwave SPORT. Matjaz and Rafael chose class 1 and 1-2 Airwave gliders because they are designed to handle very well at slow speeds with plenty of warning before the stall. The stall speed of the WAVE is exceptionally low at just 20km/h. These forgiving flying characteristics are exactly the features that make the WAVE an extremely good glider both, for low airtime pilots as well as for professionals in accuracy flying. The SPORT is a true XC glider with plenty of performance and outstanding flying characteristics. This made the SPORT to the most popular class 1-2 glider on the market today.
