Nirvana Paragliding Pilot Profiles  – Sinchan Haria

Now on a holiday in India with friends from NZ Sinchan organised for all of them to sign up for an Elementary Pilot Course. His close friends from Mumbai joined in too. NZ friends Miky, Arjun and Sean loved the paragliding course and had a lot of good things to say about it. As did Sonal Sharma, Manan Vora  and  Avik Das.

Nirvana Paragliding Weekend of Adventure Fun and Friendships

Nirvana Paragliding Weekend of Adventure Fun and Friendships

We had a great turnout on the weekend with students coming in from Kerala, Bangalore, Kodikanal, Pune, Gujarat and Mumbai. Being summer the winds are strong in the early afternoon and the paragliding training and the solo flying starts later in the evening. The days are spent chilling in a cosy nook within the guesthouse, or the garden or by the lake with a bunch of fellow students and pilots. Students pilots and guests enjoyed an idyllic weekend exploring the garden, the lake and the paragliding site by day and joining the gathering on the roof for dinner and interesting conversations.

Holi at Native Place and Nirvana Adventures was a treat – lots of colour , excitement, running chasing, splashing and squealing and hosing down . The weather was another story all together. The winds turned east n the morning and we scrambled back to Shinde tekdi with the Elementary Pilot Paragliding students where things went on quite well.

Nirvana End of Paragliding Season & firefly watch – May 2015

Parawaiting Pros

Parawaiting Pros

While I’ve been at Native Place, I’ve realized that one thing I’ve definitely become a pro at, is parawaiting. And of course some people are better at it than others. New games, new friendships and lots of mad new ideas are born out of parawaiting. Although we are not flying, it can be a lot [...]
Gung Ho for Groundhandling

Gung Ho for Groundhandling

It’s time to go back to the basics. And to watch the pros at it, is even more fun. Between them, these pilots probably have over 70 years of flying experience. But when they decided to make a day of groundhandling, it was with all the gusto that beginners have for first flights (it was [...]
Cheers and Happy Landings

Cheers and Happy Landings

The last week was definitely a good time to be at Native Place. Where else would you be able to say cheers in 3 different languages? Yamas in Greek, Skal in Swedish, and Sante in French (we’re yet to figure out the Hindi version for it). The Swedes and the French (from the Reunion Islands) [...]
So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

So Long and Thanks for all the Fish

Crackers, chaos and craziness. That’s what Diwali was like this year. Did I mention craziness? 25 paragliding students, lots of family and add a couple of Europeans to that mix. But so much fun. Photo Courtesy: Nikhil Rasiwasia The week began with Laxmi Puja and fireworks, food and an air of festivity. The Raos led [...]
Pre Monsoon Clouds are on their way in

Pre Monsoon Clouds are on their way in

Driving up to Kamshet on Friday morning our eyes turn skywards and all we could see were layers and layers of cumulus clouds. Some light some dark some thick some thin,  all piled up as their name indicates. I am groaning - thinking about the next couple of days flying  but Sanjay says “.This is [...]
