Of Women in Paragliding and Nirvana Kids

This weekend I got to the site in time to capture my son Sunith take off from the training site. He is easy to recognise with his maroon XXS wing and red helmet. Reminded me of the days when he was a toddler and I was learning to fly. I had to keep scanning the hillsides in between training to spot where my son had wandered off to. I took to the the habit of dressing him in the birghtest colors so that he stood out and saved me moments of panic.

Jan came to the site on Saturday morning along with her husband and daughter. She had earlier finished her EP course and was here to do some practice flights. While she toiled on the slopes her husband Achal took care of little Kavya who entertained herself by collecting pebbles. At the end of the session daughter helps mother pack her wing before leaving for Native Place for another idyllic weekend of flying and relaxing in nature.

Vrinda too has come to log some flights. she got to native place the night before and left with the new batch for the flying site while her husband and daughter had a lazy morning at Native Place, relaxing in the hammock and watching the sunbirds in the Jade Vine. The hammock is Saumya’s favorite spot at Native Place

The weekend was surely women’s pg weekend . Besides Jan and Vrinda we had 7 new female students join the Elementary Pilot course. The largest we have had in Nirvana Adventures 13 years of training. Do we see a new and welcome trend beginning here 🙂
